The Experience

One of the standout features of the Harry Potter Tour is its meticulous attention to detail. The sets are not just replicas; they are the actual sets used during the filming of the movies.

Some of the sets you can visit include:

  • The Great Hall – with its long tables and enchanted ceiling, walking through The Great Hall is impressive and immersive.
  • Diagon Alley – walking down the cobblestone streets and past the magical shops made famous through the books and films.
  • The Forbidden Forest – wander through the imposing trees and Aaragog’s lair.
  • Platform 9 ¾ – discover where the magical journey starts with the train that transports you directly to Hogwarts.
  • Gringotts Wizarding Bank – the grand, marble banking hall is adorned with three gigantic crystal chandeliers.
  • Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse – learn Herbology in Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse and even pull a mandrake from its pot!

Halfway through the tour visitors can enjoy a Butterbeer in the food hall with various food and drink options.

Behind-the-Scenes Insights and Anecdotes

Beyond the visual spectacle, the tour offers a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes information. Knowledgeable in-person or digital guides share fascinating anecdotes about the filming process, the actors’ experiences, and the intricate work that went into bringing the books to life on screen. These insights make the tour not just a visual feast but also an educational journey.

When Are the Best Times to Visit?

To fully enjoy the tour, timing your visit is crucial. Weekdays and off-peak seasons are ideal for avoiding large crowds. Between November to March you will find smaller crowds, however, there are often peaks during Christmas and Halloween.

Accessibility

The tour is designed to be accessible to all, with provisions for wheelchair users and those with other mobility issues. One carer per paying disabled visitor is allowed on the tour for free. Only the Hogwarts Express is difficult for wheelchair users as it an original set and is accessed by a narrow set of stairs. For full accessibility information and other disabilities catered for read the information provided by Warner Bros Studios.
